<3 from NYC
Hi Everyone!
Things have been a whirlwind here in NYC! The New York Independent Film Festival has been great and Pete, Chris & I have made many contacts from cinematographers to producers through to various artists, and so many good people, even on the flight over, like our good friends, Christina Voros (cinematographer) & Shwa Losben (singer/songwriter)!
While here, we’ve screened ‘Another Time, Another Pace’ to a packed cinema, we’ve met with the President of ‘Steinway & Sons’, as well as having a tour of Steinway Hall (Manhatten) and the Steinway Factory (Queens) where all the exquisite pianos are made.
We got invited to the studio of New York street artist, Bobby Hill & shot some ‘continuous stills’; hung out at the music studio of Captain Hitz from Party 4 Ever & got some great samples. I’ve also been tracking street artists performing in subways all over NYC, cutting together some new Tokyo Love-In tunes.
We’ve all been well-submerged in the cinema (Chris even more-so), checking out some truly experi-‘mental’ films, networking and connecting, and occasionally surfacing for a burger.
Tomorrow we’re doing a photo shoot with Mag from www.punkyourchucks.com who has done custom artwork on sneakers for rock stars & actors like Will Smith, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Tommy Lee, Jackson Rathbone & Peter Facinelli (Twilight), Alexa Ray Joel (Billy Joel’s daughter), & of course, Tokyo Love-In, Pete Longworth & Chris Baron! Yeah baby! We got some custom chucks! Thanks Mag!!!
Pete is currently lining-up a state of the art computerized tripod for his signature day-to-night panorama that we’ll shoot from Williamsburg to capture that famous New York City skyline!
So we haven’t been sleeping much, but we’re very grateful to have a place to stay @ Novi & Diane’s! We’re also excited about all the collaborations we’ve been able to work on with the amazing artists we’ve met here in such a short time - literally a New York minute! So I’ve hot-linked their names, and I encourage you to check out their work ;)
I’ve been blogging all of our adventures on my ‘tumblr’, so please feel free to visit:
Thank you so much for all your generous support, we look forward to presenting you with your rewards so you’ll have a keep-sake of this incredible project that came to be because of you!
We still have a little over 24hrs left on our Fundbreak project, so if you know of any friends or family who would like to have one of these limited-edition signed items at a great price and for a great cause, now’s the time.
Love from NYC!
<3,
Mike, Pete & Chris
