    Mr Phil Sander on piano…

Awesome! Just confirmed Mr Phil Sander to play for me tomorrow at Studios 301. He’ll be playing the piano parts for the song I composed, ‘Let’s Go to the Park’ for our live performance video clip ;) Yosh!

'Like the River' - Live Session for VH1, sponsored by Gibson Guitars & recorded @ Studios 301 in Sydney, Australia. This is one of my favourite songs that we play as MKF.

I love the sound of our Gibsons, all tuned differently, and combining to produce this deep shimmering quality! Mahmood tunes to an open ‘D’ chord, Anthony is in an open ‘G’, and I’m in standard tuning.

It was such a good energy & vibe to this whole gig & I really enjoy performing with everyone in MKF.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

    Vocal, guitar: Mahmood Khan,

Vocals: Tamasin Howard, Grace Cockburn, Naomi Csoke

Rhythm guitars: Mike Chin, Anthony Lee

    Lead guitar: Ron Manton

    Bass: Joe Manton

    Cello: Isaac Hayward

    Piano: Phil Sander

    Indian tabla: Maharshi Ravel

    Drums: Sean Tarring

'Another Time, Another Pace' screens @ New York Independent Film Festival

    Hi Everyone,

I’m pretty excited about our experimental short film, ‘Another Time, Another Pace’ screening @ the New York Independent Film Festival!

It screens @ 10:10pm on the 23rd July, City Cinemas Village East, New York, NY.

For tickets, click the title link above.

So if you know anyone in NYC who’d like to come along to see it, Pete, Chris and I will be there, and probably with a few signed copies of it, & we’ll probably do something fun like hide a couple of tickets & DVDs near the venue as well, take pics of the locations & Twitter it!

@captainhitz has also arranged a venue on the night, so we’ll be doing a live multimedia performance of ‘Life on Top of Hyde Park’ (the greater work that ‘Another Time, Another Pace is a part of).

'Life on Top of Hyde Park' is a collaborative project I'm a part of with Pete Longworth (photographer) and Christopher Baron (film). I composed & produced the music (as Michael K. Chin) & worked with musicians, Phil Sander (Steinway piano) & Yama Sarshar (Indian tabla) on the recording (search iTunes for 'Life on Top of Hyde Park').

For this performance, ‘Life on Top of Hyde Park’ travels to New York culminating in a live performance with special guests, Sheldon Garnett (jazz piano) & Yogesh Bhat (Indian tabla) synchronized to the breath-taking images of Sydney, Australia as seen through the lens of Pete Longworth.

So we’d love you to join us on this journey to the Southern Hemisphere!

    Stay-tuned for more details!
